I’ve been doing strategy and content marketing for healthcare companies for nearly 15 years, and I’ve never seen anything like what has happened in the last year and a half.
AI is completely transforming marketing.
In my own business, I’ve been using AI-driven tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity.ai, Elicit.org, and others almost every day, and they have been ENORMOUSLY useful for freeing up my mental bandwidth to focus on the most strategic, creative work for clients.
Meanwhile, I’ve watched as some clients fully embrace the technology, others dismiss it, and still others fall somewhere in between. Most are in the last group: vaguely aware that AI could support their marketing but unable to truly and effectively integrate the tools into their workflow.
I’ve had so many conversations about AI, ChatGPT, and how different marketing departments are approaching their use that it got me thinking—what are the questions I should be asking marketing or business leaders to gauge their readiness for the coming disruption? And, how might I be able to help marketing departments get more effective and save time, money, and mental bandwidth?
This is why I’ve developed an AI in Marketing Survey.
The Survey contains questions I think marketing and business leaders should be asking themselves about whether their company is prepared for the future.
It’s designed to assess a marketing team in three categories:
Current AI Skills & Knowledge
Existing Marketing Capacity
Strategic Alignment & Support
There are 12 questions in total and it takes less than two minutes to complete.
Afterward, you’ll have a good idea whether your team has the skills, support, and tools it needs to execute as AI further disrupts marketing.
Interested in your thoughts…
Most of all, I’m interested in feedback—especially from other marketing leaders who have been using AI tools to make their departments more efficient and effective. What questions are you wondering about? How would you assess preparedness for coming disruption? What would you ask a VP of Marketing or a CEO to know whether they are thinking in the right direction?
